Sanguine Night

If you ever asked me what my favourite game is, and the one game I’d wanna play last before I left this world, it would be Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines. It’s quite literally a snapshot of time I miss, the 2000s. This is how much I loved the game: I never really had a PC when I was a teenager, but I remember walking into Gamestation… god, remember that, Brits? Anyway, my group of mates were getting like 40 quid a week, but because my parents earned more, I couldn’t claim it. I was given a 40 quid a month allowance instead, so when I walked in everyone went and bought loads of snacks and a new PS2 game. Me, on the other hand, I couldn’t do that, but I saw right there on the shelf Bloodlines. So I bought the game and it sat on my desk for ages. I don’t think I played it for at least a year, but then I got a brand new laptop and the first thing I did was play the game, and I loved it ever since.

So when they announced there was going to be a sequel, it was like a rocket had been lit under me. The first glimpse of gameplay, I smiled. IT WAS BLOODLINES 2. But then it all fell apart. Call it stupid decisions or poor management, but the game got pulled. Then it was announced Chinese Room would be fixing what was there, so it wouldn’t be too long a wait. Well, that was bullshit. They just took the setting and made, well, the crap they did. For one, they forgot what Bloodlines was about, which is YOU as the vampire, not some shit character.

Anyway, I was working on a little concept project for a few of my friends and they loved it. But it couldn’t be what it could be, a full-blown game. So I thought fuck it, if Paradox won’t make it, I will. So I came up with Sanguine Night. It’s pretty much going to be its own thing, but YOU’RE THE VAMPIRE. It’s going to be like Fallout, Skyrim and Bloodlines mixed with my own IP. And well, even though it’s hardly a game yet, here’s what I’ve made so far.

So please enjoy.
