Well tonight’s the night, I will be revealing a chapter of my book The Truth in Her Eyes and I thought to talk about how I got to this point.

Truth started back in 2010, I just came out of a breakup, I had been writing a fan fiction for Twilight called simply Midnight, it was going to focus on Jasper and the aspect of vampire hunters as I remember they talk about a group of them in New Moon, so I wanted to expand upon that. But by then the relationship was over and I had been over Twilight like right after the movie came out. But I wanted to try and write a romance vampire novel.

So I started writing a draft whilst listening to the soundtrack of… Twilight.

One track came on and it was Paramore Decode, and the first line of Verse 2 of the song is

The truth is hiding in your eyes.

So the song is obviously from the point of view of Bella, so I was like I can’t use that as a title, but then it came to me Truth is in Your Eyes.

The story I consider was going to be my magnomopis and I had a great feeling it was going to be the book I would release and become a proper author and the book would sell.. The story was from the perspective of a newly turned vampire who is in hiding but he is discovered by this woman and from then on the story would progress, which I had planned but this is over 15 years ago, so I can’t remember the plan. So you may ask what happened to it? Well…

Back then we didnt have cloud storage, all I had was a old HP laptop and a usb, I was writing a chapter one night and I couldnt continue, I was tired so I turned off my laptop and put it beside my bed, the next morning I woke up and wanted to write the next chapter. When I switched my laptop on, it wouldnt come on and my laptop was broke. So I had a new laptop and instantly I put my usb in to write and the thing wouldn’t connect, when I took it apart I saw the pins were bent, so I pushed them back just so I could recover the data. But it wasn’t just that. The actual chip was fried and I lost everything.

I tried to rewrite what I remembered but it didn’t have the same punch as it did before. So I put the title aside so one day I would come back and use it for the right project.

ZFG

I didn’t think about Truth in years but then one day whilst working on Z.FG, I started to write a few short stories for the game based around my favourite songs of Two Down and Almora Down, as a way of keeping everything organised I had a database for everything to do with the game. A idea came to mind, why don’t I start to write Truth in her Eyes again. I could even make it so chapters are broken down into collectibles for multiple games. So I go to the database and click the stories tab and when I go to put Truth in it. It was ALREADY THERE.

I don’t remember putting it there, and even now it still creeps me out abit.

It was left empty though as I knew my time with Z.FG was coming to a end. A project I now have put behind me.

Knight Vision and Zed-heaD

As I was working on Zed-heaD, I introduced two characters who were the obsevers of the game, as Zed-heaD was going to be my version of Zombies, but no shitty stranger things temu Cthulhu shit. It was gonna be more grounded, they would use the cctvs to monitor your progress whilst awarding you crypto which was transfered to a usb which you would use with proper wall buys that would open to collect the gun and then would load ammo boxes too.

At the same time I started to watch Knight Vision’s videos again and the first one that came on was Bleeding Heart where she imagined what if Nat had become a vampyre at the end of Season 3 and one shot made me go oh shit. Suddenly I had a idea Vampyre Hacker Love Story, it would be a prequel to Zed-heaD following Carrie and Jasper as they become vampyres and start a Blood War. It was virtually finished even the cover was done, then I saw something and went. Why make a zombies game, its limiting me to make something I should have done before any game. THE GAME I WANTED TO PLAY AS A TEENAGER…. Shadow over Lunar Falls was reborn. The project that got me into game development in the first place .

Forever Knight

Randomly I was looking on youtube and I saw a video where someone had remade Tech Noir in the Unreal Engine, and I went why hasn’t anyone done my favourite nightclub THE RAVEN. So I took it upon myself to make it and when I shared it to the fan group someone said I should make a game and you know what they were right, so I spent over a year recreating both in the interior of The Raven, Nick’s loft and the Morgue, coming up with a short story and experimenting with ai to get it as close to the show as possible. But at the end I wanted more, I loved working on the game and the story I had planned in my head. So I wrote a fan fic that would branch the story of the game, focusing on Janette and Kristin whilst introducing a character which was me as a FK vampire called Forever Knights : New Blood.

After it was finished, I worked on experimenting with lyric videos and I wanted to do some of the ai songs I made for FK, so I made one and then the FK fan group started to show us ai videos of the show and I was like shit I want to make FKs-NB as one, so I made a video and at the end it had like a proper 80s side characters montage and when I played it back, I realised. I NEED MORE!!!! But I couldn’t because its not my ip. So…

Truth In Her Eyes.

I went, well the fan fic was the best work I’ve done, so I decided to rework the fan fic into its own thing, and expand the universe I had spent over 10years building. As some of you may know I made the decision to start saving and planning to visit America and then if I can do it, move to America. So with that in mind I thought, lets make this story move from Agarthia [UK] to Libertia [USA] so I can expand the lore and daydream about moving there. As I started to get the concept art made and work out my own vampyre clan I had KnightVision’s videos on which was mostly Touched & Here by Vast with Equilibrium as the background, Lose Control by Evanescence and of course Bleeding Heart. It all fell into place the story of a vampyre meeting the love of his life and finding out shes the most powerful vampyre yet he has to protect her. And guess what writing Truth I’ve had that feeling I had when I first wrote Truth over 10 years ago. This story is the right one and I’m already thinking two books ahead of this one.
